The Inavation Awards categories are designed to recognise excellence across the industry. From the most prestigious projects in the world, to the best manufacturers and distributors in the business, as well as awards to recognise outstanding individuals; the Inavation Awards has it covered.

The Business Awards

The Business Awards

A range of Business Awards were introduced this year to recognise key aspects that contribute to a manufacturer’s success.

Eligible entries will reference initiatives implemented between October 1, 2018 and October 1, 2019 by manufacturers of AV technology.

All qualifying entries will be listed in Inavate print and online products as well as announced during the Inavation Awards ceremony on February 11, 2020.

Winners will be selected by a worldwide panel of integrators, consultants and end users.

Manufacturer Business Awards open for entry on September 17, 2019 shut on October 20, 2019. Qualifying entries will be published on November 12, 2019.

Judges tips:

We’re looking for a good story backed up with solid metrics.
Thoroughly read the entry guidelines before starting your entry.
Make use of the opportunity to attach supporting documents to your entry.
Ensure the achievements detailed are current.

The project categories

Projects completed anywhere in the world between October 1, 2018 and October 1, 2019 and demonstrating integration of AV technologies in commercial spaces are eligible for entry into sector-specific categories.

Project Categories open for entry on September 17, 2019 and shut on November 10, 2019. All finalists will be selected by the Inavation Awards judging panel and announced on December 10, 2019. Winners will be revealed at the Inavation Awards dinner on February 11, 2020.

Projects can be nominated in the following categories:

Control Room
Entries will show a fully integrated AV system successfully implemented within a control room environment. Details of how video or audio feeds are captured in the field for use in the control room will be relevant to the entry. Examples might include an oil & gas facility, traffic management or security.

Corporate Facility
Entries will show a fully integrated AV system successfully implemented within a business environment such as a boardroom, meeting room or entire office facility.

Education Facility
Entries will show a fully integrated AV system successfully implemented within an educational facility, such as a school, higher education establishment or training centre.

Government or Public Sector Facility
Entries will show a fully integrated AV system successfully integrated within a publicly owned site such as a library, local government facility or courtroom. Note: Installations in public healthcare facilities should be entered into the healthcare category.

Healthcare
Entries will show a fully integrated AV system successfully integrated within a privately or publicly managed healthcare site such as a doctors’ surgery, hospital or elderly care facility. Details of wider telemedicine deployments will also be considered legitimate entries.

Hospitality
Entries will show a fully integrated AV system successfully integrated within a facility that entertains and accommodates guests such as a hotel, nightclub or restaurant. Details of temporary installations will also be considered.

House of Worship
Entries will show a fully integrated AV system successfully integrated within a place of worship such as mosque, church, synagogue or temple.

Leisure & Entertainment Facility
Entries will show a fully integrated AV system successfully integrated within a leisure or entertainment facility such as a theatre, cinema, auditorium or sports facility.

Live Event
Entries will show the use of AV technologies deployed in an event such as a share-holder or company meeting, product launch event or exhibition booth.

Retail
Entries will show a fully integrated AV system successfully implemented within a retail environment such as an individual outlet or larger retail centre. Examples might include in store messaging systems, as well as digital signage or public safety solutions.

Transport
Entries will show a fully integrated AV system successfully implemented within a transport terminal such as an airport, railway station or bus station. Entries that detail the use of AV technologies on public transport will also be accepted.

Visitor Attraction
Entries will show a fully integrated AV system successfully implemented within a visitor attraction such as a museum, theme park or similar environment. Special consideration will also be given to interactive elements and content.

Distributor of the Year

Distributor of the Year

Distributor of the Year is open to all AV distribution companies.

It recognises the overall service and support provided to resellers in the professional AV installation market, taking into account product focus and choice, availability and distribution services, pre- and post-sales support, market development assistance and online capabilities.

Entries are actively encouraged to include hard facts and figures – (please be clear if any details are confidential. Confidential details will be used for judging purposes only).

All programmes and initiatives must have been new or further developed between October 1, 2018 and October 1, 2019 to qualify.

Distributor of the Year opens for entry on September 17, 2019 and shuts on October 20, 2019. Finalists will be announced on November 12, 2019 and the winner will be revealed at the Inavation Awards dinner on February 11, 2020.

Your entry will be marked against the following criteria.

Demonstrate why you feel you qualify for the Distributor of the Year award.

What has your business achieved in the past 12 months that makes it stand out from the competition?
This can be a mix of initiatives launched to help resellers maximise their business, reorganisation of reseller facing teams, exceptional credit provision in a difficult economy, significant expansion of the business through organic or acquisitive growth, reseller education programmes or simply punching above your weight in terms of business offerings.

What has been your company’s biggest achievement over the past year?
Pick a particularly successful case study (can be either reseller partnership or vendor partnership) from the past year and explain to the judges why it was such a success, and why you think it will help you win this award. A reseller/vendor testimonial can be used to back up the case study.

Consultant / Project Manager of the Year

Consultant / Project Manager of the Year

Consultants and project managers can be nominated as part of a project entry if their contribution is highlighted clearly within that entry.

If you wish to nominate someone or enter yourself only for the Consultant or Project Manager of the Year award you must provide a statement explaining why the individual or company in question is a worthy winner.

Where possible, worthy winners should demonstrate the ability to:

Present original proposals to meet a client’s requirements;
Develop innovative solutions to tackle challenges within a project;
Successfully co-ordinate different stakeholders and contractors within a project;
Deliver projects on-time, within budget and to the satisfaction of the client.

Industry Influencer

Industry Influencer

This award focuses on lifetime achievements and recognises individuals who have positively changed the AV industry.

Anyone who works in the AV industry can be put forward for this award. If you wish to nominate someone or enter yourself for the Industry Influencer award you must provide a statement explaining how the individual in question has positively impacted the AV industry.

Areas where worthy winners may have excelled:

Pioneered a change in AV industry operations (eg related to safety, standards or procedures);
Invented or commercialised a remarkable progression of an existing or new technology;
Champion of AV to other industries;
Encouraged and promoted achievements of others.
